Then you will create a poster advertising the state of Pennsylvania with pictures and facts. Remember that you are trying to encourage more people to visit Pennsylvania so you want your poster to be interesting, creative, colorful, and informative.

Process

How are you going to accomplish your task? It's easy if you follow the steps below!

1. You will be assigned a group. Meet with your group members. You will also be assigned a topic to research on Pennsylvania.

    The topics are:
  • historical facts
  • attractions/places to visit
  • landforms and bodies of water
  • fun and interesting facts

2. Use the websites at the bottom of the page in the Resources section to research your topic on Pennsylvania. You are not limited to these websites. Feel free to search the internet on your own.
*The group member assigned to historical facts must find at least 5 historical facts to include on the poster.
*The group member assigned to attractions and places to visit must find at least 5 attractions to include on the poster.
*The group member assigned to landforms and bodies of water must find at least 5 landforms and bodies of water to include on the poster.
*The group member assigned to fun and interesting facts must find at least 5 fun and interesting facts to include on the poster.
When you find the information you need, print it out.
BUT YOU MUST ASK THE TEACHER'S PERMISSION FIRST!

3. After you have printed out the information you needed, organize the 5 things you will be including on the poster into a list. When all of the group members have an organized list, you will come back together to create your poster.

4. Divide the poster into 4 sections. Each student will decorate a section with information and pictures on their topic on Pennsylvania. Remember to be informative and creative!
